O KAZALIŠTU
Jazavac, odnosno današnji Kerempuh osnovao je Fadil Hadžić, a kazalište otvara svoja vrata javnosti 25. ožujka 1964. u kavani Bled u Medulićevoj ulici. Nekoliko godina nakon otvaranja, kazalište seli u dvoranu s 500 sjedala u samom centru Zagreba. S novim prostorom program kazališta se obogaćuje novim sadržajima, dok se ansambl značajno proširuje. S novim sadržajem javila se i potreba za još jednom scenom te je osnovana Scena Vidra u Draškovićevoj ulici. Godine 1994. ime kazališta se mijenja iz Jazavac u Kerempuh, te ono nastavlja sa uspješnim radom u pomicanjem granica u umjetnosti i društvenom angažmanu do danas.
ABOUT THE THEATER
Jazavac, or Kerempuh as it’s called today, was founded by Fadil Hadžić, and the theater opened its doors to the public on March 25, 1964 in the Bled cafe in Medulićeva street. A few years after opening the theater moved to a hall with 500 seats in the very center of Zagreb. With the new space, the theater’s program was enriched with new contents and the ensemble expanded significantly. With the new content come the need for another stage and Scena Vidra was founded in Draškovićeva Street. In the year 1994 the name of the theater was changed from Jazavac to Kerempuh and the theater continued its successful work in pushing boundaries in art and social engagement to this day.
PRISTUPAČNOST
Drago mi je da i za Kerempuh mogu reći da je pristupačan osobama u kolicima! Stepenice koje vidite na slici gore predstavljaju standardan su ulaz koji vodi do garderobe, no posjetitelji u kolicima ulaze kroz središnja vrata koja vode ravno u foaje. Potrebno je samo najaviti dolazak kako bi zaposlenici znali da ih moraju otvoriti ili zamoliti nekoga na blagajni da im javi. Pod dvorane je ravan i ako ste u kolicima možete se smjestiti u zadnji red poslije ulaza ili sa strane, ovisno o kretanju glumaca po dvorani. Jedna jako bitna stavka o kojoj sam pisala u ranijim „kazališnim“ objavama jest i važnost postojanja prilagođenog WC-a (pogotovo kada se gleda duga predstava) i jako mi je drago da je uprava Kerempuha mislila o tome jer je u kazalištu dostupan i nama prilagođen WC!
Blagajna se nalazi u zgradi ispred samog kazališta i na samom ulazu u nju nalazi se jedna „nezgodna“ stepenica. Kažem nezgodna jer osim stepenice morate preskočiti i okvir vrata koji se nalazi na vrhu te stepenice.
ACCESSIBILITY
I’m glad to say that Kerempuh is accessible to wheelchair users too! The stairs you see in the picture above represent a standard entrance that leads to the cloakroom, however, wheelchair visitors can enter through a central door that leads straight into the foyer. All that needs to be done is announce your arrival so employees know they have to open it or ask someone at the box office to let them know. The hall floor if flat and if you are in a wheelchair you can be seated in the back row right at the entrance or on the sides, depending on the movement of actors around the hall. One very important thing I wrote about in the earlier “theater” posts is the importance of having an accessible toilet (especially during long plays) and I’m very glad that Kerempuh’s management thought about that because an accessible toilet is also available!
Box office is located in the building in front of the theater and there is an “inconvenient” step at the entrance. I say inconvenient because in addition to the step, you have skip over the door frame located at the top of that step.
