O MUZEJU

ABOUT THE MUSEUM

THE MUSEUM OF BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS was founded in Zagreb in 2006, and in 2010 a permanent exhibition opened its doors to the public in Zagreb’s Upper Town. The museum consists of a collection of objects and stories that marked broken love relationships. Since its opening, the museum’s collection has been traveling around the world as a traveling exhibition, and its branches have been opened around the world.

PRISTUPAČNOST

Osobe u kolicima mogu se uglavnom bez problema kretati prostorima Muzeja.

ACCESSIBILITY

Wheelchair users can generally easily navigate the premises of the Museum. Although you will be greeted with a low threshold at the entrance, the staff will place a wooden slope at the entrance, if needed. The box office counter is relatively high, which is a minus, especially for modern museum that should consider people in wheelchair when all segments of its offer are in question.

Although you have to climb a few steps at one section of the museum, the staff will place two metal slopes on them. It’s commendable that you do not have to go back to the cash register and ask for help, the staff will set them up when they see you. The only problem is not all wheelchair are the same width, so you’ll need to be close when the slopes are being installed. The rest of the museum is obstacle free. Although some exhibits are set relatively high, you can view most of them without problems.

Within the museum, as already mentioned, there is a souvenir shop that is accessible to wheelchair users, just bare in mind that the space is relatively narrow, so one has to be careful. The same goes for the cafe.

Unfortunately, there are no other adjustments in the museum. There isn’t even a handrail to help climb those three steps…
